Ingredients for Simple Lemon Sugar Cookies
- All-Purpose Flour: Flour is the base of any great sugar cookie.
- Baking Soda: Baking soda is a leavening agent in this recipe to help the cookie rise.
- Baking Powder: Baking powder is another leavening agent in this recipe providing rise to the cookie.
- Butter: Butter is essential to any good sugar cookie. Salted butter in my opinion is the only way to go.
- White Sugar: Sugar provides all the sweetness to this cookie. The lemon sugar cookies are also coated in sugar to deliver that sweetness to your taste buds right away!
- Eggs: The eggs in this recipe are going to help hold the cookie together while baking.
- Vanilla Extract: Even though this is a lemon sugar cookie, vanilla extract is still essential to the flavor. Here is my favorite vanilla extract.
- Lemon Zest: This recipe is packed with lemon flavor and a lot of that is thanks to the lemon zest. This recipe does not shy away from lemon zest! Be sure to use fresh lemon zest.
- Lemon Juice: In addition to lemon zest, the lemon juice in this recipe helps to provide even more of a lemony fresh kick. Bottled lemon juice can be used, but I highly recommend sticking to freshly squeezed lemon juice.
